  10. 1. About this release
  11. ---------------------

  13. The QUICKTKB.ZIP archive contains all of the current eSoft Technical
  14. Knowledge Base files as well as a special version of QuickSearch that
  15. can be used to search the Technical Knowledge Base on any system.
  16. This special version of QuickSearch has the following limitations:
  17.  
  18.        (a) It is restricted to level 255 users
  19.        (b) It is restricted to 4 simultaneous users
  20.        (c) No indexing capabilities are provided
  21.  
  22. You will need approximately 3 MB's of free disk space to install all of
  23. the files included in the QUICKTKB.ZIP archive.

  29. The QUICKTKB.ZIP archive contains the following files:

  32.    TKB.ZIP        - Technical Knowledge Base Files
  33.    QSINDEX.ZIP    - Prebuilt QuickSearch 1.5 Index
  34.    QUICKTKB.TPG   - QuickSearch 1.5 Application
  35.    APIDEMO.ZIP    - QuickSearch API demonstration files

  39. 3. Installing the Knowledge Base
  40. --------------------------------

  42. (A) To install QuickSearch 1.5 for use with the Technical Knowledge
  43.     Base, unzip the QUICKTKB.ZIP archive in an empty directory.
  44.  
  45. (B) Then, in the same directory, unzip each of the following:
  46.  
  47.          TKB.ZIP        - Technical Knowledge Base Files
  48.          QSINDEX.ZIP    - Prebuilt QuickSearch 1.5 Index
  49.  
  50. (C) Finally, create a TYPE 200 menu command like the following to
  51.     execute the QUICKTKB application:
  52.  
  53.     KEY=T TYPE=200 OPT DATA=D:\PATH\QUICKTKB /Q && /ESOFT.ANS
  54.  
  55. This menu should only be available to level 255 users. Attempting to
  56. run the program without level 255 access will cause an error message
  57. to be displayed.
  58.  
  59. The last parameter is optional and specifies the use of an external
  60. ANSI menu file. Additional ANSI menu files have been included in the
  61. APIDEMO.ZIP archive. Instructions on using the API Demo are provided
  62. in the QUICKTKB.DOC file.

  64. Information on using QuickSearch is available in the <H>elp section
  65. of the program. Both HELP.ASC and INFO.ASC are editable text files you
  66. can customize to suit your own particular needs.
